Good morning Helix Parents/Guardians - Helix Schools will be on a 1/2 day schedule tomorrow and Thursday with a dismissal at 12:25 p.m. Friday will be a no school day for students and most staff. Classes will resume on Monday, 9/19. Also, the Griswold High School volleyball game at Athena scheduled for Wednesday, 9/14 at 4 p.m. has been canceled. Yesterday was another exciting day for our little Grizzlies as they celebrated their end-of-year Purposeful People awards assembly! Students cheered on their classmates as they competed in an office tennis minute-to-win-it challenge. We also got to recognize many of our students for their outstanding work practicing CREATIVITY and PERSEVERANCE! Way to go Grizzlies! At the close of the assembly, our Griswold Graduating Class of 2022 came out and surprised the students. It was great to see our seniors in their graduation caps and gowns as they get ready for their graduation on Sunday!

Congratulations Ellery! This morning the Griswold High School students and staff gave Ellery Flerchinger a send-off as she heads south to Eugene. Ellery will compete Thursday, May 19th at Hayward Field in the 1-A state 1-kg discus throw! GO GRIZZLIES!

Congratulations to Gabby Simpson on her selection as the 2022-2023 State of Oregon FBLA Vice President of Alumni Engagement! As Griswold High School’s first ever FBLA state officer, Gabby will help set the pace for the entire organization.

A BIG THANK YOU to the Helix community, staff, and students for making our Middle School Carnival on Friday evening such a success!! Our elementary students had a blast winning prizes at each of the games. Parents were able to spend time viewing the elementary Lego projects and the middle school science fair. Thank you again for making the Helix School District such a wonderful school!

Helix Parents/Guardians - Helix School District has a large number of students that out due to illness. Some parents have reported their children are testing positive for the Influenza A virus. This virus is contagious and spreads easily from person-to-person. Out of an caution, the Helix School District will do additional cleaning of classrooms and hard surface areas this week. Please keep students at home that are not feeling well. Students are welcome back at school when they are symptom free. Thank you!
