Helix Parents/Guardians - Reminders: The Helix School District will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 8th for parent/teacher conferences and Monday, Nov. 11th for Veterans Day! School will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12th. Have a wonderful 4-day weekend!

Helix Parents/Guardians: This afternoon's middle school basketball games have been changed from Pilot Rock to Helix with a start time of 4 p.m. For the safety of our students and fans, please monitor younger children that are joining you to watch the games. Thank you!

Helix Elementary Parents/Guardians: The delivery of cookie dough for our elementary fund raiser has been delayed and will arrive at the school on Thursday, Nov. 7th. If you have any questions, please text or call Hayley Buckley at 541-720-4044.

Last Friday our Elementary had our first Purposeful People Awards Assembly of the school year! The 5th graders led us through a minute-to-win-it challenge and so many students received awards for working hard on our character traits! Congratulations to the 4th graders for claiming the title for the VICTORY chant class challenge! Thank you to Mr. Summerfield and the band for taking our assembly up a notch! Our character trait for November is GRATITUDE! Have a great week Grizzlies!

Helix Parents/Guardians: A few reminders... tomorrow marks the end of our 1st Grading Quarter. Helix Schools will dismiss tomorrow, 10/25 at 12:25 p.m. and our activity bus will run at 2:15 p.m. rather than 5:15 p.m. Parent-Teacher conferences are coming up on Wednesday, 11/6; Thursday, 11/7; and Friday, 11/8; with no school on Friday. The Helix Community Dinner and Open House is this evening, Thursday, October 10th. Please join us today 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Also, please remember that tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 11th will be a no school day! Helix Schools will be closed for teacher in-service. Classes will resume on Monday, 10/14. We are looking forward to seeing you this evening!

A HUGE thank you to the Helix PAC and the Brachers for opening their home and supporting our K-5 Harvest Party this afternoon! And a big THANK YOU to our staff, high school helpers, and our parent volunteers for all their help! The K-5 Helix Grizzlies had a blast, even if it was a “Blustery Day”!

Good morning Helix Parents/Guardians - Helix Schools will be on a 1/2 day schedule tomorrow and Thursday with a dismissal at 12:25 p.m. Friday will be a no school day for students and staff. Classes will resume on Monday, 9/16. Bus pickup times will be 3 hours earlier tomorrow and Thursday. Today will be the last day this week for the 3 p.m. football bus. Please have a safe and enjoyable Pendleton Round-Up!

Helix Elementary Parents/Guardians - This message is for parents/guardians that ride a bus to and from the Red Lion Hotel area. The hotel has requested that parents do not park in the hotel parking lot while dropping off or picking up their students. The hotel is making this request out of safety for our students. Please park along the road when dropping off or picking up near the Red Lion Hotel location. Thank you!

A BIG thank you to our wonderful community and the Helix staff and students that were able to help this morning move the “Engineered Wood Chips” into or play areas! The Helix elementary playground looks great and our equipment is ready for kids on Monday, August 26th for our 1st day of school! A special thanks to the Helix Parent Advisory Council for helping with the cost of the wood chips. Thank you!!

Helix Secondary Parents/Guardians - The Helix Electronics Committee is working on a proposal to revise the current cell phone/electronics rule in the Middle and High Schools. This change is coming as many districts around the nation are moving to more restrictive cell phone use policies. While cell phones can be helpful in many ways, they also are a big distraction for students in a learning environment, as well as present various additional challenges. We are asking parents and students to fill out a short survey regarding this change. The survey is anonymous.
